Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

In 1959, Italy introduced a rule that made it illegal to ride on the highway with a bike that displaced less than 150cc. MV Agusta responded by taking their 125cc lineup and creating a family of models around a 150 motor including the Gran Turismo, Rapido Sport America, and Rapido Sport.

The 4-stroke motor was good for 10 horsepower and it was fueled by a Dell’Orto MB20B carb. MV claimed a top speed of 71 miles per hour.

MV built 6,515 examples between 1959 and 1969.

This example is VIN: 856723, Engine #: MV-RS-851795. The bike was sold in a 2019 Artcurial auction in Paris in 2019 to a collector in Washington state. The seller (our friends at Northwest European) acquired it from the collector in December 2022.

It comes with a Registration Certificate #546 from the MV Agusta Historical Registry.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. The seller has not ridden this bike.

Maintenance:
Per the seller: “the bike was sold as a static display bike in 2019. It has been in static storage since. Appears to be complete, but I have not attempted to start the bike. No idea when it was last run.” The seller adds that it “makes a lovely display bike in any office, collection, retail store, etc,” but it comes “out of multi-year storage, would need to be gone through to prepare for running again if desired.”

Modifications:
The seller believes this MV is completely stock.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
It is in very good cosmetic condition, but see photos for overall condition. No used bike is perfect!

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Duro tires.
