Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

MV Agusta may be best known for its exotic styling and soulful engines, but the Italian marque also dipped its toes into the moped market back in the 60s and 70s — introducing a variety of quirky models like the Germano you see before you.

With a name coming from the Italian word for “Mallard,” the little moped was not marketed as a speed machine. Rather, it was a built-to-a-price offering intended to be an approachable (and affordable) form of transportation. Prices started at 72,000 Lire, a sum attractive enough to sell some 4,508 units over the course of the Germano’s production life.

For the powerplant, MV sourced a West German DKW two-stroke single. Despite its meager 47cc of displacement and two horsepower, the addition of a three-speed gearbox meant that the Germano could take riders to a top speed just shy of 25mph.

This example is VIN: MVG05733664. The seller believes it’s a 1971 model – we’re under the impression they were built between 1964-1968 but we are unable to confirm and there is no title.

There is no odometer; true mileage is unknown.
