Additional photos of this Honda Fourtrax are available here for your perusal.

In 1984, Honda introduced their first four-wheel ATV: the TRX200. They quickly expanded the range with smaller and larger engines – in 1985 they created the TRX125.

Honda marketed the FourTrax as easy to use, with period ads calling it an “Easy Getaway” and saying that the “full-size layout and light weight make it ideal for a wide variety of riders.” Features to make life easier included an electric starter to complement the pull start, automatic clutch, reverse gear, automatic cam chain tensioner, sealed drum brakes, and thumb throttle with an adjustable limiter.

The 125cc OHC single-cylinder engine was fed by 2 gallon fuel tank flowing through a 18mm carb. It pushed 8 horsepower through a five-speed transmission.

Honda’s factory accessory lineup (Hondaline) include a front carrier, rear carrier, mud guards, front bumper, body covers, ATV flag kit, headlight protector, and a trailer hitch.

Manufactured in December of 1985, this example is VIN: JH3TE0503GC131118, Engine #: TE05E-2130772.

The seller’s family purchased it new from D’s ATV Sled & Marine in Edmonton, Alberta in 1986. “I received this as a Christmas present when I was a child, and shortly thereafter grew into the bigger machines. Therefore this only saw use for two summer seasons before becoming a garage queen. No odometer on these ATVs, I would estimate well under 500km of use total.”

Maintenance:
Always in a heated garage, always serviced this annually myself. In the spring of 2022 I performed an oil change, air filter replacement, new battery, new tire tubes, new rear sprocket and chain, and grease job.

The steel wheels have been sandblasted and refinished.”

The seller notes that the “rear brakes could use a little refresh of TLC.”

Modifications:
LED headlight and taillight bulbs.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

The sale includes one key and the original tool kit.

Currently located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, this Honda is offered on a Bill of Sale only. “ATVs & all other off-road vehicles sold in Alberta do not come with a title, unless plated & road legal. Sold on a bill of sale only from the Honda dealership in 1986. This is common practice for the province of Alberta. if someone does wish to obtain a vehicle title, it is my understanding since a title has never been issued for this vehicle from new, that the next owner will have no trouble applying at their local DMV for ownership papers/title.”
