Built to compete with Honda’s Fat Cat, the Yamaha BW200 (BW stood for “Big Wheel”) was part of a series of off-roaders also available in 80cc and 350cc.
The 200 variant pushed 15 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque through a 5-speed transmission, enough to move a bike that weighs 258 pounds dry through just about any terrain.
This example is VIN: JYA54G005GC040405. The seller acquired it from the original owner in 2010.
During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 50 miles. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.
Modifications:
“The bike is semi-restored & in mint condition. Plastics are all original but the decals have been replaced. The engine is original and the bike runs/idles great and is a blast to ride. It’s a very low use bike that is very rare and collectible.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
“Only cosmetic issue would be since it’s a plastic tank when you fill it w/gas the tank decals will get puffy on you but no flaws in the decals. It could be switched out for a perforated tank decal to eliminate, they sell on eBay for $40.”
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. He has changed the oil and the spark plug and notes that it “sits in a collection and is rarely ridden.”
Currently located in Riverside, California, this Yamaha is offered on a clean California Off-Highway title. The sale includes the Owner’s Manual.
