Description

ICONIC PROJECTS: if you follow us on Instagram (and you should!), you know that we’ve recently partnered up with Kamikaze Motorsports in Glenwood, Iowa. One of the many new services that will be coming from our partnership is a series of project bikes for those of you that like to tinker or are looking for a lower entry price to a bike you’ve always wanted for our White Glove service to fix up on your behalf.

Additional photos of this YSR50 are available here for your perusal.

The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.

The YSR 50 was a rare offering of a small displacement “fun” bike in the American market. Deprived of the Suzuki GAG, the Honda NSR50/80 and other small cc bikes from Japan, the US was immediately fond of the YSR and loads of them were sold here. This model is actually a JDM version evidenced by it’s short VIN and the warning labels being in Japanese.

This example is VIN: 2GX-014211.

The odometer shows 13,538 kilometers (8,412 miles).

Modifications:
Aftermarket grips.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
There are various scratches and flaws in the decals on the fairings.

There is peeling in the paint on the tank.

The inside of the tank is rusty.

The battery is dead and will need to be replaced, and the bike is in non-running condition so it will require a going over before use.

Currently located at our facility in Glenwood, Iowa (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Yamaha YSR 50 is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any Yamaha YSR stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
