Description
Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1990 Honda NSR50.
The NSR50 was in Honda’s lineup for decades before they blessed the USA with a chance to officially try it for ourselves in 2004 with the NSR50R. Before that year, Americans had to either order one directly from HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) or try to import one through the gray market.
It was well worth the effort, because Honda used components that made it much more competent on the track than the usual choice of the Yamaha YSR50. This model sports full street trim complete with lights, signals and license plate.
Producing 7.2 horsepower at about 10,000 rpm, the 49 cc two-stroke single is liquid cooled and redlined at 11.5k. This powers the NSR50 to a top speed of about 60 mph. Ask anyone serious about racing and they’ll tell you that this is one of the best bikes to get started on. Frankly, many experienced riders love getting practice on the NSR50 and its incredibly light weight of just 161 pounds.
This example is VIN: AC101315825. The seller states “This bike was bought in Japan about 3 years ago. The 1987 to 1999 Honda NSR50 was only available in street trim and never imported to the USA. The odometer shows 531 KM which is 329 miles. The seller has covered approximately 20 miles during his ownership.
Maintenance:
The seller states “The carburetor was fully cleaned, all engine fluids were flushed and replaced with new fluids. Brake fluid was also flushed and replaced with new fluid. New air filter installed, new spark plug, and new chain was installed. The bike has no mechanical issues, the bike starts easily when cold and idles nicely when warmed up. The bike runs nice and smooth and is a blast to ride around town or in the pits at the track, super fun little bike to ride.”
