Description
Please note: Iconic Motorbikes is pleased to continue its relationship with NAPS Sport Vintage! Established in 2022, the brand specializes in meticulously restored Japanese motorcycles, with select models including Zephyr 400s, Zephyr 750s, Zephyr 1100s, NSR250Rs, TZR250Rs, RGV-Γ250SPs, R1-Zs, GPZ900Rs, and CB750s. As part of the program, each bike undergoes a comprehensive 90-point inspection, during which time a team of specialized technicians address any areas in need of repair. Within Japan, NAPS Sport Vintage operates a wide network of facilities, offering customers a 1-year warranty upon purchase. Should the buyer have the bike shipped to Iconic Motorbikes, we will complete a post-transport inspection and NAPS will ensure that everything is as represented. However, there will not be an additional warranty once the bike is stateside. Iconic can help with shipping and if the new owner is patient we may be able to combine shipping with other bikes from Japan to save on transport – please check with us (transport@iconicmotorbikes.com) if you would like additional information!

Two-stroke lovers, rejoice! The Yamaha R1-Z was exclusively offered in Japan and was only sold for just two years (1990-1991). The trellis frame looks great, and we love the “Individual Sports” and “2 Cycle Parallel Twin 249” stickers on the tank and tail.
The retuned TZR250 motor (which was also very similar to the engine in the TDR250) produces 44 (restricted) horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 27 pound-feet of torque at 8,500 rpm.
Triple disc brakes reined in that power quite easily thanks to the weight of just 293 pounds.
This example is VIN: 3XC006409.
The odometer shows 18,954 kilometers (11,777 miles).
Maintenance:
NAPS has performed a 90-point inspection on the bike and notes, “We replace all Naps Sports Vintage vehicles tires to the New Bridgestone Tires just before its delivery.”
They provided a condition report in Japanese (which you can see in the photo album), we have run it through an online translator and this is what we got:
NAPS’ work included a significant teardown and compression check (more photos available in the album).
Modifications:
Aftermarket exhaust.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Currently located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan, this Yamaha is offered on a clean Japanese title. Please note that as an import, this bike lacks certain compliance and emissions stickers that the state of California would require to transfer a title.
