1991 Yamaha TZR250 3XV

Additional photos of this Yamaha TZR250 are available here for your perusal.

A repliracer at heart, the 3XV is the last and arguably the most sought-after generation of the Yamaha TZR250 – the lovely little V-Twin motor doesn’t hurt, either. Only sold in Japan originally, the 3XVs were offered in a variety of trims, all of which were limited to 45 horsepower by the Japanese government.

The 249cc V-Twin produced 29.5 lb-ft of torque along with the 45 horsepower, and it was paired with the Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS) and a 6-speed transmission. Dry weight was just 278 pounds, which is why these bikes are an absolute joy to enjoy on a twisty road. Many owners also derestrict the motors to open up additional power.

The TZR250 was most commonly sold in Yamaha’s racing colors of red and white, however a few were offered in a black/grey livery with dashes of pink.

This example is VIN: 3XV001867. The seller acquired it three years ago from noted 2-stroke collector Gary Mortensen of White Knuckle Motorsports in Springville, Utah.

During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 100 miles. The odometer shows 17,566 kilometers (10,915 miles).

During his ownership, the seller installed a new chain, new petcock, new battery, and had an “overall service” performed.

Steel braided brake lines.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

It is riding on Pirelli Sport Demon tires with date codes of 0516 and 1016.

The sale includes two keys.
