When it was introduced in 1990, the Kawasaki ZX-11 was the fastest production motorcycle in the world. Part of that came from the fact that it was the first production motorcycle with a ram-air intake, which helped the 1,052cc inline four engine produce a claimed 145 horsepower and 80 ft-lbs of torque.
In a period review, Cycle World said, “Now two years old, the Kawasaki ZX-11 Ninja is still the baddest, meanest, flat-nastiest motorcycle available. Forget about the other big-bore sportbikes: They’re all slow.”
Despite its immense performance, the Ninja ZX-11 was noted for being easy to ride and easy to maintain, which enabled it to have a lengthy production run that lasted until 2001.
Manufactured in January of 1993, this example is VIN: JKAZXBD12PB500896. The seller acquired it in the fall of 2021 from a private owner in Central New York.
During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 150 miles. The odometer shows 7,359 miles.
Maintenance:
In the last year, the bike had the carbs cleaned and rebuilt, fork seals and fork oil replaced, brake fluid flush, and a new battery. The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
Corbin Gunfighter seat.
Aftermarket tall smoked windscreen.
Custom aluminum chain guard with “ZX-11” cut into it.
Not pictured is a battery tender lead.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes three things:
1. the original Ninja decals on the lower fairings “were removed by the guy I bought it from as he did not like the way they look.”
2. the Corbin seat has two cracks on the flat part of seat on either side that are about 1″ long but are narrow and not easily noticed from a distance.
3. there are are maybe 2-3 small chips on the lower left fairing.
The sale includes the owner’s manual, two keys, and the service manual.
The seller is letting it go as he is 72 years old (been riding for over 53 years) and feels the bike is too big and heavy for him at this point. He sums it up by saying, “this is one of the nicest and cleanest pre-owned bikes I’ve ever owned – a “no excuses” and “no disappointments” motorcycle.” Currently located in Vestal, New York, this Kawasaki is offered on a clean New York title.
