Introduced in 1999, the Dyna Super Glide Sport (also known as the FXDX) was designed to be a Harley-Davidson that was equally at home cruising on main street or carving some corners. As Motorcycle Cruiser put it in their 2000 review, “the FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport delivers what many riders may feel is the Holy Grail of cruiserdom: good looks, good power, competent handling and a Harley-Davidson logo on the tank.”
Changes from the base Super Glide included better brakes, narrower but stronger carbon fiber drive belt, black exhaust with larger mufflers, wider rear tire, and adjustable shocks. The FXDX was also one of Harley-Davidson’s first bikes to get the Twin Cam 88 engine, rated at 63 horsepower and 76 lb-ft of torque. However, this example makes quite a bit more: 105 horsepower and 117 ft-lb (verified on the dyno) thanks to a long list of mods that we’ll get into soon.
This FXDX features an extensive list of modifications, which the seller has broken down between the engine and chassis:
98” Fuel Moto big bore kit, CP Carrillo forged pistons 10:0:1, Woods Performance night crawler cams, Fueling HP cam plate, Fueling HP oil pump, Level B heads ported and polished, Woods Performance Alpha Series Knight Prowler lifters, Fuel Moto adjustable push rods, HSR45 Mikuni carb. As noted above, this put out 105 horsepower and 117 ft-lb on a dyno.
16″ West Coast MX-TBARS, JD T-sport fairing, 16″ black wind screen, Performance Machine grips, Ricor Intiminators forks with Race Tech front springs, Plex Audio 330W Rockford Fosgate marine sealed enclosure Bluetooth speaker.
The seller states that “all maintenance and modifications are documented with date and mileage.” He adds that there are no cosmetic or mechanical issues. He’s selling it as he has “too many hobbies as well as a new baby.” Currently located in Pacific Grove, California, this FXDX is offered on a clean California title with registration current through August 2021.
