The culmination of Honda’s engineering and performance with Montesa’s pedigree in the sport of observed trials, the Montesa Honda 315R was an instant success in the market. The 315R came in a lightweight package, featuring a function-over-form aluminum frame and a single-cylinder two-stroke engine that tipped the scales at just over 165 pounds! With numbers like that, it wasn’t long after that the tiny trials bike gained international recognition – with riders like Dougie Lampkin winning consecutive world championships from the motorcycle’s debut in 1997 through to 2003.
