After approximately a decade and a half with the GSX-R1100 being the top of the Gixxer lineup, Suzuki introduced the all-new GSX-R1000 for 2001. Journalists felt it was the first bike to compete with Yamaha’s revolutionary R1 of 1998, and Suzuki was able to top the R1 with less weight and more power (374 pound dry weight, 160 hp/81 lb-ft at the crank).

Manufactured in April of 2001, this example is VIN: JS1GT74A012106594. The seller is the owner of Adrenaline Cycle in Swansea, Massachusetts and this comes out of his personal collection. He acquired it five years ago from a long-term customer – Adrenaline maintained it for years.

The odometer shows 14,309 miles.

Within the last 5 months, Adrenaline gave it a full service including a new battery. 12/29 UPDATE: It was previously noted that the service included new tires, however that was a mistake. We apologize for the error.

Modifications: this GSX-R is highly original with the OEM exhaust, turn signals, and rear fender.
ProGrip tank protector.

Frame sliders.

Battery tender lead.

Cosmetic Blemishes:

Inside of tank:

It is riding on Michelin Pilot Power tires from 2007.

The sale includes the owner’s manual, tool kit, service manual, and some related magazines.

Currently located in Swansea, Massachusetts (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Suzuki is offered on a clean Massachusetts title. Have any GSX-R1000 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
