he 2002 Yamaha YZ250 is a 2-stroke motocross bike with a 249cc liquid-cooled engine, 5-speed transmission, and a dry weight of 97 kg (213.8 lbs). It features a 66.4 x 72.0 mm bore and stroke, 9.0–10.6:1 compression ratio, and a Keihin PWK38S carburetor, delivering roughly 53 horsepower at 8,000 RPM.

The 2002 model is notable for receiving significant chassis updates (frame and bodywork) from the previous year, often regarded as one of the best 250cc two-strokes of its era.

Maintenance:
The seller states: “I’ve only put 4 hours on it since I bought it. Crankcase oil was changed and air filter cleaned after every ride. So the bike has a total of 6 hours on it since the rebuild as described below”.

Here is the information directly from the buyer when I was buying it from him:

The seller states: “This is my 02 YZ250. I built it to race before I had bought my KTM. I did the following to it and did two hrs run time to break it in. It was a low hour bike, trail ridden by the original owner”.

NOTES:
The seller states: “2007+ CRF front brake system in place, it was a direct bolt-up. Plastics are from a newer YZ250 from 2017 – 2020”.

The seller states: “This bike has no known issues. This bike is a screamer.”

– new oem clutch kit

– Emig Billet triple clamps

– 2006 SSS forks serviced by Brian Roth. Stock .44 spring rate with the oem valving spec. These were take offs from a 2006 YZ, he went through them make sure fluids and seals were fresh.Two piece KYB kit shock valved and serviced by Brian Roth. 4.9 titanium spring. Kashima coated shock body. Right fork guard 17D-2315J-50-00, Left fork guard 17D-2315H-50-00.

– WC Elite Perch

– WC Ti Pegs

– FMF Gold Series Pipe

– FMF Exhaust

– Mika chain and front sprocket, renthal rear sprocket
