Description
Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 2010 Ducati Streetfighter 1098 S.
When Ducati first debuted the Streetfighter model at EICMA in 2008, it was immediately rewarded with the “Most Beautiful Bike” award at the show. It was originally released with a 1098cc desmo engine, though for the 2012 model year Ducati offered it with the 848 motor as well.
The upgraded S featured Marchesini forged wheels, carbon fiber cam belt covers, carbon fiber front fender, and fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, and Ducati Traction Control. Thanks to the lighter weight upgrades, the Ohlins only had to cope with a dry weight of 368 pounds.
This example is VIN: ZDM11BEW2AB000635. The seller is the original owner. He purchased it new in March of 2009 from PJ’s Ducati in Albuquerque, New Mexico (no longer in business).
The odometer shows 17,580 miles.
“I bought the bike new the day it was released to the public and over the years I’ve loved it, ridden it, and modded it to my taste and I think its one of the most beautiful and well sorted first gen SFs in existence. It is an exceptional SF and in exceptional condition.”
Maintenance:
The seller states: “I’ve done all most all of the maintenance myself and do have some receipts and records. It was the first bike to have vacu-cast engine cases making them lighter and stronger than the 1098 superbike engine right up until they implemented it on the 1198 SBK” He notes that the cam belts were done with the 15,000 mile service but he does not have a date for that work and adds that “the fuel reserve light does not work.”
Modifications:
“These bikes had poor fueling maps from the factory even with the Performance ECU. To overcome this problem it has matched injectors, custom intakes, a polished full Termignoni exhaust system, and a custom tune from DucShop. This bike has been tuned correctly and the mapping is spot on with an even AFR across the rev range. I’ve spent years and thousands getting this right and very few of these bikes have been tuned to this level.”
Carbon replaces most of the stock plastic parts.
“The early Streetfighter S had a flat bronze colored frame and wheels. I painted my wheels Marchesini gold and the frame and radiator covers red matched to the bodywork.”
The tank has been professionally sealed.
Ducati Performance comfort seat that has been re-covered with leather and alcantara.
Oberon foot pegs (spaced out 10mm for foot comfort), Oberon clutch slave cylinder, SpeedyMoto front sprocket cover.
Fast by Ferracci clutch, SpeedyMoto open clutch cover.
The plate holder is custom made trellis style to match the frame.
Ducati Performance LED indicators.
Not shown: CNC oil filler plug.
It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ tires with date codes of 4317 and 4817. “They are still like new and after checking my records they only have about 600 miles on them.”
The sale includes two keys, code card, the owner’s manual, interactive technical documentation CD, marketing materials, Ducati Performance catalog, some maintenance records, and a plaque (shown above).
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“I’m sure there are some but the bike is very nice with very few imperfections. It is a multiple show winner.”
Currently located in Summerfield, North Carolina, this Ducati is offered on a clean North Carolina title.
