Introduced in 2011, the “Evo” variant of Ducati’s 848 was something that Cycle World called a “midlife upgrade“, with “performance gains…intended to benefit racers and street riders alike.” The engine got new throttle bodies with larger bores, revised cylinder heads, and a new profile of the piston crown, which significantly bumped the compression ratio from 12.0:1 to 13.2:1. This helped increase horsepower to 140 at the crank.
This example is VIN: ZDM1XBMV4CB021805, Engine #: XBMC008284. The seller acquired it five years ago from a private party.
During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 4,500 miles. The odometer shows 5,598 miles.
Maintenance:
“Regular fluid changes, valve inspections, timing belts, spark plugs, air filter maintenance, brake pads. Complete engine overhaul with Carrilo H-beam rods, hand degreed cams, polished and contoured crankshaft by Fox Performance, upgraded lower rod bearing shells, upgraded main bearings from the 1098R with 2 extra ball bearings as the stock 848 mains are a weak point.”
“The bike is mechanically sound and has been thoroughly maintained by myself, a certified Ducati Master Technician. The bike has been over serviced with oil and filter changes after each race weekend.”
