The seller of this example (VIN: ZDM14BUW0FB023685) acquired it in November of 2019 from a Ducati enthusiast in Napa, California with 1,143 miles on the odometer. He has put just 33 miles on it since, so the odometer currently shows 1,178.
Per the seller, “my plan was to get back to track days after a 3-year break. Then Covid-19 hit and all of my pre-paid track days were cancelled. Now I have an annoying sports injury that will likely require surgery. It’s not my year, so I’m going to sell the bike and re-assess my track-riding life again in 2021.”
This 899 has a tremendous amount of modifications, and the seller estimates that this 899 weighs 385 lbs full of gas (stock was rated at 426 lbs). Here’s what’s been done to it:
The original owner added the following at a cost of approximately $8,500:
-Ohlins TTX GP Shock
-GP Suspension 25MM Fork Drop-In Cartridge Kit
-Ohlins Steering Damper
-ECU Up-tune, Termignoni titanium exhaust and Woodcraft rearsets
-Armor Bodies Superbike Race Bodywork, custom painted in a Ducati Superleggera scheme by Zenner Paints.
-GB Racing Clutch Cover
-Woodcraft clipons, Woodcraft Right Hand lever guard (not installed), and Zero Gravity Corsa Windscreen
-Pirelli Supercorsa TD (Track Day) Compound tires
-Superlite Rear Sprocket (44T 520)
-Tighttails aluminum rear subframe and Tighttails aluminum fairing holder
-Ducati Performance Billet Fuel Cap
-Shorai li-on battery, MWR Racing air intake filter, and over $1,000 worth of MotoComposites, matte-finish carbon fiber parts (F/R fenders, Exhaust Shield, Chain Guard, 1-piece Tank/Key Surround, Shock Guard, etc).
Catalyst Reaction in San Carlos, California installed the BST wheels/new tires and set up the suspension for the seller: “They went through the bike to make sure that everything was torqued and in good order (perfect bill of health). The bike has also just been freshly serviced/oil changed during my brief ownership at the Ducati dealership and needs nothing. The current odometer is 1,178, all 35 miles during my ownership added during a chill “outlaw” run on the street to make sure everything worked fine (which it did).”
The selling price also includes:
-The OEM cast aluminum front/rear wheels (including carrier/sprocket), powder-coated black to a high standard with recent (90% life remaining) Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas.
-Front & Rear Pitbull Race Stands as shown in photos.
-OEM parts: 2 front fenders, rear fender, chain guard, rear subframe, front fairing holder, exhaust system, intake filter/assembly, exhaust shield, rear tail light cluster, etc. OEM plastics (fairings, tail section, etc) are not included.
There are no mechanical issues, and the seller states this 899 is “really in incredible condition, almost perfection“. The only cosmetic blemishes are “some tiny paint chips around some of the Dzus fasteners and a few very small nicks on the swingarm.” The bike has never gone down. Located in Oakland, California and offered with a clean California title, this 899 is an incredible track mount that has all the paperwork to be street legal if desired.
