This beautiful Thruxton represents the last year of the air-cooled model before they went to a water-cooled powerplant. Available in either Brooklands Green or Phantom Black, this true “modern classic” does a great job blending retro styling with modern convenience. One of the best examples of this is the fuel injection system, which has been designed to appear like carbs.

This example (VIN: SMT920K14GT730687) is on offer by the original owner, who bought it new from Southern California Motorcycles.

The odometer shows 1,273 miles – he notes that he wasn’t able to ride it much due to busy international travel schedule over the last four years. The red bandana is from the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, tied to the handlebar for “good memories.”

He is selling it as he is moving to Philadelphia to pursue a master’s program and will not be taking the bike with him.

The seller notes “scratches on the right mirror holder from when I was backing it out of my parking spot. There was no other damage to the bike – just a clumsy oversight on my part.

This Triumph is currently located with the seller in Corona, California. He states, “because I don’t ride it and because I was traveling internationally this year, the bike is currently in ‘planned non-operational’ status with the state of California. Meaning, I have not registered it for 2020.” As this is on Planned Non-Operation, there are no back fees.

Though the mileage is minimal, the seller has taken care to frequently start it up and ride it around the block and ensure that it does not sit for extended periods of time. There are no cosmetic issues, mechanical issues, or explanations needed – it’s just a low-mileage example of a true modern classic.
