First coming to market all the way back in 1985, Suzuki had 32 years of R&D behind them when making the sixth generation of their iconic liter-bike – the GSX-R1000R. Features that were new for this model included VVT, or Variable Valve Timing – improving bottom-end grunt and high-revving power- as well as the electronics suite. With a major overhaul in the technology came new rider aids such as traction control, a quick-shifter, and multiple rider modes that helped rider’s refine their riding experience.

As for handling, the GSX-R saw improvements in the suspension and chassis. Suzuki claimed to refine the frame to offer stability and handling during aggressive riding, while out back they included a Showa BFRC shock with variable adjustments. Always being an easily recognizable model, Suzuki expanded on the appearance of their superbike with an all new angular look, boasting a sportier design and improving aerodynamics all in one. With the massive refresh for the GSX-R1000R from the Japanese company, Suzuki was brought back into discussion in the highly competitive liter-bike class of sportbikes.
