Click here for a VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT.
Introduced in 2014, the Super Duke R was a whirlwind of torque, power, and sound that could only be concocted by the minds of the engineers at KTM. The SDR was a supernaked bike with incredible performance, combining the best of both a supersport and a naked bike to create what KTM nicknamed “The Beast”.
2017 was the first significant revision, which brought a powerful engine, updated suspension and ergonomics, and advancements to the electronics. The lunacy started with the V-Twin engine, which produced a claimed 177hp and 104lb-ft of torque — the most powerful production LC8 engine KTM had built up to that point.
From this iconic motorcycle came the Super Duke GT, a sport-touring model that allowed riders to churn through miles of road at speed. The GT came with a full touring package, which included heated grips, cruise control, as well as adaptive suspension that would automatically adjust according to passenger load. The bike also came with an adjustable windscreen and hard bags (for an additional cost from KTM). As KTM put it, “Think of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT as a comfortable ballistic missile.”
Slowing the bike down were a set of Brembo brakes that provided the necessary stopping power needed for such a motorcycle. The suspension paired with this bucking bronco was a WP fully adjustable suspension system.
This example is VIN: VBKV69405KM907341. The seller is the original owner – he bought it new from a KTM dealership in Livermore, California in 2019. Per the seller, the “bike is a joy to ride. It’s a real torque monster and comfortable enough to ride to the east coast tomorrow. If my legs were 2” longer and a little stronger I wouldn’t be selling it.”
The odometer shows 4,870 miles.
Maintenance:
“After I picked the bike up I put 300 miles on it over a few days and changed the oil and filter. Dealer serviced it at 640. I did an oil change at 3500 in late 2020 then barely rode it and changed the oil 1/25 at 4730 miles including clutch and brake fluid. I have new coolant but haven’t changed it. Bike is garaged covered always and on a battery tender. No documentation.”
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues but he notes that the coolant is due for a change.
Modifications:
“Rox bar risers. Renasco seat. Bren tune ecu flash that really helped the low rpm fueling. Arrow mid pipe cat eliminator. Tail tidy. New seals not because it’s been wheelied or tracked but KTM has had issues with them. I have an Arrow slip on for it. For me it was just a little too loud.”
It is riding on the original Pirelli Angel GT tires with date codes of 3518 and 4018.
The sale includes two keys, key code card, and owner’s manual.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller states, “The scuff mark on the swingarm looks like a boot rub and I took a picture of two small scratches on the left handguard.”
Currently located in Scotts Valley, California, this KTM is offered on a clean California title with registration current through April 2026.
