Electric motorcycles may not yet be mainstream in 2021, but as battery technology advances and the automotive world increasingly moves to electric drivetrains, motorcycles will not be far behind and that is opening up many new possibilities for two wheeled creations. Radical new ways of thinking about how to power a motorcycle also gives way to completely new ideas on moto-design and implementation. One off prototypes are nothing new, but rarely are they more than a mock up concept and usually never available to the public. This Guido Electric Custom is an anomaly, and similar to the Curtiss Zeus Prototype that was recently sold on Iconic Motorbike Auctions this Box39 Guido offers something truly unique and special in the quickly evolving e-moto space.

The Guido Electric Custom from Moscow’s Box39 is a special combination of engineering and art that was built to showcase the capabilities of Box39’s Vlad Belyakov, his team and the Haas 5-axis CNC milling machines used to produce many parts of the bike. Originally commissioned by an Eastern European distributor of Haas Machines this Guido Custom found it’s way to the States via Henne Co., the U.S. importer for Box39 components, notably their wheels and swingarms used in their very custom Harley based build projects.

Anyone who has spent any time working on, modifying or building bikes knows how important a CNC mill and good operator is when creating special one off parts to complete a project. Countless hours of machining went into the chassis and its associated components, such as the girder type front suspension and aluminum swingarm. The original inspiration behind the Guido Electric was a Rolls-Royce concept car drawing that gave birth to the idea of a fully enclosed front fender that partially showcases the massive 30″ front wheel that alone took a staggering 200 hours of machining time.

The body is fully aluminum and was built by hand, it hides the 17″ rear wheel that is connected to adjustable suspension and a working electric motor/battery setup. Form over function was the objective, but Box39 made it a point to ensure the Guido actually does work as an electric platform. Please note that this is a prototype – it does run under its own power but the speed/range are not suitable for public use.

Subtle details are everywhere on the bike and artfully implemented, fitting that the Guido derives it’s name from 17th century Italian artist Guido Reni. Hidden controls in the handlebars, and a cleverly designed LED headlight that seamlessly blends into the front of the bike are just some of the features that show incredible attention to detail.

From concept to reality the Guido Electric Custom is something truly original that would not only look good in a motorcycle collection but like Guido Reni’s paintings would also not be out of place in a museum!

This Guido Electric custom is being sold by Henne Co. in Florida who have been using it for the last year as a showcase for Box39’s talents and they are now offering it up for sale to pursue new build projects. Currently located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this custom is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
