Description
Additional photos of this Pierobon X80R are available here for your perusal.
Located just a few minutes away from Ducati’s headquarters, Pierobon has a strong history of chassis design and pit equipment for some of the world’s best race teams. Their specialty is in frames and associated components to house Ducati engines and turn them into absolute track weapons.
The Italian firm currently offers four frame kits, each designed for different generations of Ducati V-Twin motors from the 1299 to the 2-valve air-cooled units. The model name for the frame designed to accept 1098/1198/848 engines is X80R, named for the 80th birthday of Pierobon founder Riccardo Pierobon.
The main trellis frame is built out of EN AW-7020 aluminum alloy and it weighs just 16.2 pounds. The complete X80R kit costs $27,000, and that’s just the start of this incredible motorcycle we have on offer today.
This example is VIN: F10000A000 N014. It was built by Michael “Woolie” Woolaway and was recently shown at the OG Moto Show. It has never been ridden.
The odometer shows 16,474 miles, however the dash is used and true mileage is unknown.
Woolie’s X80R kit includes a quick change rear wheel setup, custom aluminum shock link, custom aluminum frame, custom aluminum swingarm, custom aluminum sub frame, custom aluminum gas tank, custom aluminum fairing mount, custom aluminum rear sets, custom carbon fiber bodywork, custom wind screen, custom rear fender, carbon fiber front fender, and custom seat pad. In total, there is approximately $75,000 of parts in this motorcycle.

The motor has four heat cycles on it. It has a billet pork chop crank that was balanced with heavy metal plugs, Pistal titanium rods, Pistal high compression pistons, 1098R cams, EVR carbon fiber air box and intake runners, and stainless steel valves for better reliability.
The engine is paired with a Nova close ratio gear box ($3,500) that features a EVR 48 tooth slipper clutch housed in a Woodcraft billet clutch cover, and Ducati 1098RS shift drum/shift forks with roller bearings. “This makes the bike shift like a Japanese bike.”

All aluminum parts except for the top of the gas tank have been Cerakoted.

With the spare springs and extra parts, Woolie says that this “has all the parts to be set up for almost any rider.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The motorcycle is in excellent shape as is basically as-new, however Pierobon’s carbon fiber bodywork is race-spec, very light, and typically sold with the expectation that it will be painted.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Pierobon is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any X80R stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
