When it was first released, the BMW S1000RR was an absolute revelation that made riders better thanks to the most advanced implementation of technology at the time, with features that had not yet been seen on production bikes like an optional quick shifter and dynamic traction control.

From a Cycle World First Ride: “Normally, pinning the throttle wide-open on a liter-class supersport machine while at or near full lean in a corner would spell certain disaster. Common sense rules out grabbing even half a handful of gas while at the apex of a tight bend. Yet despite survival instincts honed through nearly 30 years of riding and racing experience, I found myself at full throttle with my knee skimming the tarmac and wanting even more from the fuel-injected, dohc, four-cylinder engine that powers BMW’s new-for-2010 S1000RR.”

Cycle World wasn’t the only outlet that gushed over BMW’s first proper supersport. Everyone did, and the S1KRR changed the market overnight. New for 2013 was the color of Granite Grey Metallic, and Race ABS went from being an option to standard equipment.

The seller is the original owner, he purchased it new in 2013 from BMW of Pasadena, California. He has decided to sell as he is reducing his collection. The odometer shows 2,001 miles.

Our auction site's 3rd finishing listing Friday's #50 of only 500 bikes built by Ducati in celebration of its 90th anniversary! This 1299 Panigale S is from 2017 and it's available for bid until 12PM PST on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Built to celebrate “ninety years of passion and performance,” the 1299 Panigale S Anniversario was released as a limited edition capped at 500 units.

It was more than just a cosmetic upgrade: it was the first Ducati to get their EVO updates to Traction Control and Wheelie Control (utilizing data from the IMU), as well as the first Ducati to get Slide Control. Over five pounds of weight was shaved thanks to a lithium-ion battery and several pieces of carbon fiber: heel guards, rear fender, and shock absorber cover.

The Anniversario also came with a race kit that featured billet aluminum mirror block off plugs, license plate holder plug, and a gold Akrapovič exhaust which bumped up horsepower to 202 when equipped.

The gold Akra was also paired with gold forged aluminum Marchesini wheels, laser-etched engraving, Italian-flag inspired livery, and some 90th Anniversary decals.

The seller purchased the bike two years ago from a private party out of Boston, Massachusetts. It is number 50 of 500. The odometer shows 3,741 miles.

Per the seller, “This bike sat in my office for two years with battery tender on it and fuel stabilizer in it. I have not performed any maintenance.”

According to the seller the bike is stock and includes two keys and a bike cover.

Introduced in the latter-half of 1999 as a 2000 model, the Honda RC51 was a big-bore V-Twin superbike created to put an end to Ducati’s reign of supremacy in production-based racing.

2002 was also the year that Honda made some updates to the original model (known as the SP1). The second generation RC51 (or SP2) benefited from a host of changes requested by Honda’s factory racers, including a taller windscreen, longer swingarm, reduced steering head angle, stronger yet lighter frame, and a power plant that got a few extra ponies. The RC51 was also markedly more reliable than its Italian twin counterpart, making it much more attractive to riders on the street. It’s not uncommon to come across RC51 specimens with more than 100,000 miles on the clock that are still going strong.

A true racebike with headlights, the RC51 was brimming with competition-grade hardware and componentry. Even the instrumentation is configured with a race-style rev-counter, and the rest of the running gear is equally track-focused. Sold from 2000 through 2006, the RC51 was produced during an era in which American riders were at the top of the game and will forever be associated with legendary US-born racers like Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards.

The seller purchased the bike from a private party in Florida in 2016. The odometer shows 6,947 miles. The seller has covered approximately 455 miles.

Introduced in the latter-half of 1999 as a 2000 model, the Honda RC51 was a big-bore V-Twin superbike created to put an end to Ducati’s reign of supremacy in production-based racing. Honda achieved some impressive results with its “Ducati killer” in the form of World Superbike Championship titles in 2000 and then again in 2002 — the same year the RC51 was ridden to an AMA Championship.

The WSBK titles were sweet, but many Honda fans have a soft spot for the 2002 AMA Championship as it was won by none other than Nicky Hayden. Honda celebrated the feat in 2004 by building a run of RC51s with some cosmetic updates to commemorate Nicky’s feat. Said changes included the Hayden red white and silver livery, white number plate areas, a brushed aluminum frame and swing arm, and of course, the Kentucky Kid’s signature on the top of the tank.

The bodywork was sent to Iconic from Japan and the seller states, “This is complete bodywork set for the RC51 VTR1000SP, it will fit all years 2000-2006. This is freshly painted in the 2004 Nicky Hayden colors. This is all OEM bodywork and tank, except the front fender and solo cowl cover are Tyga GRP reproductions. The tank is an original 2004 Hayden tank, and the original signature decal on the top was preserved, so the color match outline is a bit more pronounced than they originally were. The upper, lowers and tail are a mix of other years OEM plastic and everything is painted to match 2004 Hayden scheme. New bodywork and tanks are not available now or are very limited, you can put your original bodywork away and use this and still have your bike look 100%.”

It’s a supermoto with a powerful V-Twin, excellent components, and race-bred pedigree: the bike had already won the S2 World Supermoto Championship as a prototype before it was released to the world. Unfortunately, early (2007) bikes had serious issues with the sealant used in the engine cases. If spotted quickly, you could reseal the motor and everything would be fine. If not, water would get into the oil and you’d be looking at a V-Twin paperweight. Thankfully, Aprilia had sorted it out by 2008, and customers were rewarded with a full-on race bike that was somehow street legal.

The Aprilia was a revolution in the world of supermoto, ditching the traditional single for a beefy V-Twin that popped out a staggering 70 horsepower at 10,500 rpm for a bike that weighed about 280 pounds!

The seller states “I bought from original owner both of us experienced/meticulous riders. My opinion one of the best setup SXV’s in the country.”

The odometer shows 2020 miles. The seller states “Super low miles, was a backup and display bike.”

More of a sport-tourer than an outright sportbike, the 1100 is a beautiful anomaly from the usual Guzzi fare of torque-y cruisers.

Visually, the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 stood out from its Japanese competition because the proportions of plastics to engine made it look low-slung and broad-shouldered – the middle linebacker of the sportsbike world.

Traditionalists shouldn’t worry as it still packs the trademark V-Twin, but in this incarnation the motor is surrounded by performance components: Brembo brakes, WP suspension, Bitubo steering damper, and Marchesini alloy wheels.

The 1,064cc motor was good for 90 horsepower and 71 lb-ft of torque, and you can flirt with 140 miles per hour with the throttle pulled all the way back.

The seller purchased the bike July 2019 and states, “I purchased the 1100 Sport from the original owner, an older gentleman who garage kept it, rode it sparingly, and kept it completely original. The bike was perfect when I received it from him. He vetted me out as the buyer to make sure it went to a good home! I’ve owned a number of Moto Guzzis and this model was the pinnacle of style and handling, as far as I’m concerned. The combination of looks, handling, and Moto Guzzi character was what I was after. It’s been a joy to own. Wish I had room in the living room for it!”

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 300 miles. The odometer shows 5,975 miles.

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “Always fully serviced through my shop. Recent new tires. No mechanical issues. Runs and starts perfectly.”

Facing competition from V-Twins by fellow European manufacturers such as Aprilia’s RSV4 and KTM’s RC8, Ducati decided to up its game with the 1198. The results were quite successful as Ducati won plenty in WSBK, something the Panigale failed to achieve.

At the heart of the platform was Ducati’s 1,198cc Testastretta Evoluzione motor. When mated to the same gearbox found in the 1098R, the extra displacement was enough to give the 1198 a 10hp bump and an additional 7lb-ft of torque (resulting in a throaty 170hp and 97lb-ft of torque) over its predecessor. As Ultimate Motorcycling put it in their review: “The Ducati 1198cc engine’s massive horsepower is seriously addictive. There’s so much drive and from 8000 rpm, when the torque peaks, I had a big smile inside my helmet.”

The seller is the third owner and purchased the bike three years ago from a private party. During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 25 miles. The odometer shows 6,266 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller notes the cam drive belts were replace at 6,000 miles, three years ago.

The Moto Guzzi V7 was introduced in 2008, and it’s been the Italian firm’s best selling model since 2009. In 2011, Moto Guzzi debuted a limited-edition Racer model with just 150 examples worldwide. It differed from the other V7s by way of a red insignia’d tank, a leather tank strap, a shiny red frame and swingarm, a suede seat, as well as a numbered flyscreen and tail cowl. Moto Guzzi only offered the model with a chrome tank from 2011 to 2015.

The seller purchased the bike three years ago from a motorcycle shop and states, “My father, a seasoned Honda/Kawasaki/Norton/Suzuki/Harley custom builder mechanic, had some health issues and wanted something a little lighter because bikers just don’t stop riding…His son (me) moved back in to assist him and sparked the bike love life again. Summer of 2024, I drove for two days to pick him up a ZX-7 1991 J model Kawasaki Ninja and his health has kicked back in full force. He and I are back in the shop rebuilding bikes again. Its taken him three years to get back into the jam of riding some bigger bikes and this Moto Guzzi needs a new owner. We (him and myself) are clearing out the shop (house and second garage) of bikes not getting any use so we can rebuild the classic bikes in need.” It is number 0067 of 1000. During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 600 kilometers (372 miles). The odometer shows 11,044 kilometers (6,862 miles).

In 1990, Suzuki introduced an all-new GSX-R400 for the Japanese market with the code name GK76A. Fierce competition in the 400cc category amongst the Japanese manufactures was fueled by the restrictive riders licensing rules in Japan that favored smaller displacement bikes and the TT-F3 racing class that spurred continual development of the models from the big four Japanese builders.

The GSX-R400 was originally launched in Japan in 1984 with the GK71 model, featuring a liquid-cooled inline four cylinder engine with DOHC, four valves per cylinder and close to 60 hp. Lighter than its rivals (under 350 lbs wet), the aluminum framed Suzuki became a hit with its excellent handling, more-than-adequate brakes, and a race-derived heritage.

These unique wall art tanks are produced by Parc Ferme Moto Art. The artist has been a good friend of Iconic’s and Bike-urious for over a decade and has produced an extremely unique and limited production run of gas tank wall art available exclusively through Iconic Motorbike Auctions. The seller states “This is an homage to the classic 90’s GSXR line of bikes, the distinct frame and the thin fuel tank were trademarks of the early 90s GSX-R line all the way from the 400 up to the 1100. This tank is from a GK76 1992 GSX-R400, this is #1/2 that I made, #2 ended up getting sold to a friend, so this will be the only one offered. The paint scheme here is the latter end of the run on the GK76 circa 1995/96.”

They just announced the new BMW R 1300 R and once again…BMW continues to deliver!

Top line recap: A new 1300cc Boxer Roadster with 145 HP and an awesome 110 lb-ft of torque. Optional ASA Automatic Shift Assistant, launches in late Q3 2025 and priced at $16,595 USD.

I was just thinking about the resignation of the Harley Davidson CEO which I thought was an odd choice to begin with for a half dozen reasons. Then thought…what is BMW doing that HD is not…(yes..it’s a long list).

Well…traffic is HORRIBLE in most cities so offer easier to ride bikes (as much as I’m not an “automatic” kinda guy….). Smart move! Adventure bikes are EVERYWHERE…BMW owns that market. Win win! The R9T was super smart for the cafe racer / city rider / all purpose bike.

I borrowed that big 1300+ cc KTM and I’ll tell you right now…torque is super fun, especially when you don’t redline at 5-5500 RPM…another great plan by BMW. Shaft drive is easy to maintain, crazy rider aids like the “prop up aid center stand” are a smart move as well.

Blows my mind how we have “dry days” 90% of the time but I may see 4-5 bikes on a 1 hour commute. Hopefully more bikes like this that are WAY EASY to ride and still give you a huge smile when you pull that throttle will help with that. Dare to dream!

I sure loved it here but I’m ready for a new chapter for Iconic. Having the worry that an aviation tenant could kick us out at anytime, knowing the airport is closing in 2028, the “MAJOR” insurance problems with being located on an airport and of course that unbearable rent will most certainly take my stress level to a new low….looking forward to that!

He’s a Cinematographer by trade so when we asked him to set up a location in our new HQ for auction bike photos and YouTube content….he jumped at the chance!

He has some very cool motorbikes & cars of his own…most certainly part of the Iconic family!

Iconic's 4th closing auction Thursday: a super low-mile example of what was once Moto Guzzi’s most powerful v-twin bike! This Daytona 1000's from 1993 and it's available for bid until 1PM PST on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Dr. John Wittner made a name for himself in the late 80’s thanks to his ability to modify the hell out of MG’s – his bikes won consecutive US Endurance Championships, among other racers. Due to his success, the Guzzi factory asked him to come to Italy and help develop a superbike unlike anything the Italian firm had produced before. The Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 was born, and it was the most powerful Guzzi ever built at the time.

Unusually for a sportbike, the Daytona retained the traditional MG shaft drive, though they utilized a system similar to BMW’s Duolever to counteract shaft-jacking. Realistically, it was a bike that didn’t feel as nimble as the Japanese competition, but die hard Guzzi fans and riders looking for something a little bit different found it be charming, and relatively easy to ride thanks to the torque.

From a Cycle World review in 1993: “Both the 888 and the Daytona are expensive. Both are exclusive. Both are exciting. Both speak to the emotions. And both are very easy to fall in love with.”

The seller states “I purchased the Daytona as a Christmas present to myself in 2023. I have ridden it sparingly (to keep the miles low) and enjoyed staring at it often. With many other bikes to ride and maintain, I have decided that it’s time to allow another caretaker to enjoy the bike. It will be missed, and I will likely regret the sale.” The odometer shows 1,452 miles.

Currently located in Santa Monica, California, this Moto Guzzi is offered on a clean California title with registration current through May 2025.
