One of the most beautiful and functional motorcycles of all time, the RC30 was built as a homologation special so that Honda could take on the World Superbike Championship. Between 1987 and 1990, 4,782 examples were produced, 316 of which were originally sold in the US.
The RC30 is Iconic because Honda’s engineers went above and beyond to build a special V-4 with trick parts such as titanium connecting rods, gear driven camshafts, and a slipper clutch. The 748cc DOHC V-4 engine was capable of producing 118 horsepower, but Japanese models were restricted to 75.94 horsepower due to laws in Honda’s home country on how much a 750cc motorcycle engine could produce. It’s not an overwhelming number, but it still leads to a lovely riding experience when partnered with outstanding brakes, fully-adjustable Showa suspension, a twin-spar aluminum frame, and a dry weight of just 400 pounds.

We have a little bit of history with this bike (VIN: JH2RC3016LM200068), as we performed a $3,909 service in December 2018 – highlights included replacement steering bearings, carb rebuild, new tires, and a clutch/brake fluid flush. The sale includes the tool kit, owner’s manual, OEM stand, and battery tender. The one aftermarket touch is a nice one, a Yoshimura exhaust.
There are tiny marks on the front fender as well as a small mark on the left side of the tank near the wing. The seller has owned it since July 2006, when he acquired it at an auction in Monterey, California. This RC30 runs great and it’s currently at our headquarters in Marina del Rey, California – feel free to come by and check it out in person!
