If you’re collecting sportbikes, a 91-92 ZX7R is a MUST HAVE! While you’re at it, why not get a zero mile example as you know it’s as clean as they come. (Even bikes in crates have approx 1.5-2 miles from testing so the actual miles on the clock are closer to 1.9 from rolling it around, shows, etc.)
The R model defers significantly from a standard ZX7 in that it has a hand welded aluminum tank, a solo tail section, improved suspension, larger cams, Flat Slide carbs, a special R model subframe, special transmission….the list goes on and on.
They only made about 500 of them for homologation purposes and many were raced, crashed or abused so the number of near perfect ones is quite low (but unknown).
