Description
Additional photos of this F4 Senna are available here for your perusal.
We’re stealing this description from the MV Agusta F4 Senna Factory Press Release (a copy of which is included in the paperwork for this bike):
Following the launch of the SENNA marque, Ayrton [Senna] and Chairman Claudio Castiglioni had an encounter. Recognizing the principles and passions they had in common, the two started up a close collaboration and deep friendship. Today, their partnership, in accordance with the SENNA Foundation, has led to the development of a new motorcycle that preserves the characteristics that made Ayrton the most beloved driver of all times.
The MV Agusta staff has designed an evolution of the F4 inspired by the same enthusiasm of its Chairman. An enthusiasm that not only derives from the friendship with the driver, but primarily from the knowledge that the Foundation’s purpose is to assist over 300,000 Brazilian youths by contributing 100% of its proceeds to the development and implementation of social programs.
Given the special nature of the project, MV engineers developed the model based on the high performance SPR version…the engine has been improved and made lighter in many of its basic components: amongst the modification to the head, new features have been included to the timing system, intake pipes, and the new combustion chamber. The head/cylidner group now includes “MAHLE” pistons, molded with jets of cooling oil, which enable the limiter’s threshold to reach 13,900 rpm, while the crankshaft has been lightened considerably. Another significant development has concerned the primary drive, now shortened and equipped with a clutch reinforced with a brand new gearbox assembly with closer ratios.
Work on the frame has included new, exclusive color combinations and specially designed graphics, as well as numerous carbon fiber components which embellish the technical/design content and consequently enhance the objectives common to the two marques.
We hope you enjoyed that little history lesson. The SENNA was expected to produced 140 horsepower at the crank with the EPROM and optional race only exhaust.
It also came with 50mm Marzocchi titanium nitride-treated forks, and a dash of carbon fiber in the airbox runners.
This example (VIN: ZCGAGFLJX2V100463, Engine #: F4A205866) was bought new by the current seller from Britalia Motors in Capitola, California (no longer in business). Included paperwork shows that the original owner placed his order (with a $2,500 deposit) on January 22, 2002, as well as a letter from Cagiva USA to their dealers noting that “of the 300 units to be produced worldwide, Cagiva USA is expecting to receive roughly 60-70 units for the USA.”
This one-owner machine is 49-state legal and it comes with the EPROM, battery charger, warranty booklet, owner’s manual book, owner’s manual CD, 2 keys, and correspondence between the owner and the dealership he placed the initial order with.
This is #200 of the 300 units built worldwide.
The bike was originally delivered to the owner with the MSO, but that is no longer available so we must offer this bike with a Bill of Sale only. It has never been registered, and has spent its entire life in the owner’s private collection on display.
There are just 10 miles on the odometer.
We can only identify two cosmetic flaws – a miniscule paint chip in right side of the tank and a series of three small chips in the rear wheel. Photos of both are included in the album up top.
This bike is ready to continue life as a display piece, but our White Glove Service is glad to make it a runner for you if you’re interested in getting it back on the open road.
