We’ve seen our share of Repsol-liveried CBRs here at Iconic Motorbikes – we even have a couple of 0-mile examples for those of you that are looking for perfection. We’ve got a 2007 on our classified, and we’ve got a 2005 that will be listed soon. Here’s a 2009 that’s been modified to make it a fun and reliable daily rider.
2009 brought the tenth generation of the RR, fresh off of a major revamp for 2008. Big improvements included titanium valves, lighter pistons, a lighter and narrower frame, a slipper clutch, and updates to the electronic steering damper. The old underseat exhaust was dropped in favor of a side-mount for better mass centralization, as well.
This Repsol (VIN: JH2SC59J29K000678) shows 17,381 miles on the odometer, and it is currently located at our headquarters in Marina del Rey, California. The CycleVIN report shows that it was titled in Illinois on 5/4/12 with 10,500 miles, again in Illinois on 6/5/14 with 13,768 miles, and most recently in Wisconsin on 6/14/17 with 16,004 miles.
There are several extras, the highlight of which is a freshly installed SC Project slip-on exhaust.
Within the last 1,000 miles, this Honda was equipped with CRG levers and CFM rearsets. It also has a Bazazz fuel controller.
The seller also installed brand new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires with a 120/65 front (stock is 120/70) as he appreciates the handling characteristics of a slightly shorter/stiffer sidewall.
The clutch feels great, but the sale will include a fresh clutch kit as well. We also note a tail tidy kit.
This bike has evidence of a low-speed right side fall, with scratches on the right side engine cover and bodywork as well as cracked plastic under the right headlight. There is also some key wear on the triple tree, and a small crack in the paint in the top of the tank. Photos of all known cosmetic issues are included in the album above.
This Repsol CBR would make for a great daily rider with a little bit of extra personality thanks to the tremendous sound of the SC Project exhaust.
