Description
Additional photos of this Yamaha TZ250 are available here for your perusal. Even more photos are available at Deus Ex Machina.
Introduced in 1973, Yamaha’s TZ250 was instantly competitive in club racing and was even able to make a dent at the GP level with a few modifications. Thanks to the aftermarket, it stayed competitive for 3 decades.
This TZ racer was built by Michael Woolaway for Deus Ex Machina – he bought it to race AHRMA but a bad knee surgery kept him off the bike. There’s a lot of parts and hours into this one, and the motor is freshly rebuilt (with an RD head) – you will need to break it in. Claimed horsepower is 50 at 10,500 rpm.
Features include a Gustaffson windshield
Mikuni carbs
Ohlins steering damper
Works Performance shocks
Brembo front caliper and forks redone by Race Tech with Works Performance internals.
Ready for the track or the street, this TZ250 has a lot of potential.
