Description

Additional photos of this 2006 Vespa GT200 are available here for your perusal.

GT stands for Gran Turismo, and until 2006 it was largest step-through scooter that Vespa sold in the US.

Stock, the liquid-cooled 198cc single engine produced 21 horsepower and 13 lb-ft of torque. The bodywork and frame were redesigned to fit this large motor but designers took great care to make sure that the styling still looked like a Vespa. The wheels grew to 12″ to keep everything in proportion, as well.

This example (VIN: ZAPM319K065006622) has been highly customized, to the point that the seller states it’s faster than the GTS300 model that eventually took over the lineup.

Engine-related upgrades include a Polini variator kit with 9.2 gram pulley rollers, Malossi Delta clutch, and Leo Vince 4Road exhaust.

This GT also features a Malossi kevlar belt, Malossi RS24 front shock with adjustable damping and urethane bushing, and Malossi rear shocks, also with urethane bushings.

There are several modifications to the exterior as well, such as the Cuppini windscreen.

LED headlight and Euro taillight.

GTS300-style rear rack conversion and chrome rear crash bars, both made by FACO.

Miscellaneous upgrades include a Stebel Nautilus airhorn, recent 12V lithium-ion battery, Prima Cover with windshield and two case openings, and recent Michelin City tires.

There are a couple of cosmetic issues – we note a scratch on front fairing.

As well as a large crack in the bodywork underneath right controls near the right mount for the windshield.

This Vespa is offered with a clean California title, and the registration is current through December 2020. The sale includes a rain cover for the seat as well as the master key with chip and two slave keys.
