We sourced this Ducati 900SS (VIN: ZDM1LC4N4MB000542) from a Tom Hall auction for a client who had a project in mind, but he’s decided to move on and wants it sold off as-is for parts or possible restoration.
While the bike was supposed to come with a title from the auction, it has not arrived. At this point we believe it is unlikely the title will ever show, so this Ducati is on offer with a Bill of Sale only. 5-1-2020 UPDATE: Great news! The auction house has found the title and they’ll be sending it to us very soon.
This 900SS sets a record for highest mileage of a motorcycle that we’ve auctioned: it has stunningly covered 196,546 miles – all from the original owner. He painted in a “1” on the odometer to celebrate his achievement:
The original owner also repainted it in black.
This bike is rough around the edges – the paint is wearing off, the fuel tank is corroded, and there’s plenty of general wear and tear. We’ve included lots of photos for you to help judge the condition, but let us know if there’s anything else you need images of.
We note the inclusion of a battery tender, Fast by Ferracci exhaust, and a Corbin seat.
This bike has quite a history, and we’re curious to see what the next owner does with it – break it down for parts, display it somewhere in an interesting collection, or restore it and cross the 200K mark?
