When Honda released the CL350 in 1968, they stressed their success with the following quote in promotional brochures: “During 1967 Honda won twice as many world championships as any other make, and Honda has continued its winning ways both in motorcycles and on the Formula 1 and Formula II Grand Prix automobile racing circuits as well. No other motorcycle manufacturer in the world has as impressive a record, on all counts.” What did that have to do with a mid-to-large size (for the time) scrambler? Who knows. But the CL350 would soon become a popular bike and the first year paint liveries of Candy Blue, Candy Red, and Orange were some of the most popular of the entire run.
The 324cc parallel twin was good for 33 horsepower (36 in the street-oriented CB350) and a top speed of 100 miles per hour. Wet weight was 346 pounds. Like the “scramblers” of today, this was best enjoyed on the street.
This CL350 (VIN: CL3501000427) is one of the earliest example of Honda’s most popular motorcycles.
The odometer shows 6,032 miles.
The seller acquired it in 2008 and says that the carbs were always a bit off. It has not run in a while, so the seller is offering it up as an interesting no reserve project! Our White Glove service would be glad to make it a runner for the next owner, if desired.
The last registration we were provided suggests that it expired in 2019.
We note that it has a recovered seat.
We also note plenty of surface rust and chrome pitting.
