When Honda revived the Africa Twin name for the 2016 model year, they offered a conventional 6-speed transmission as well as a first-in-class DCT. The latter eliminates the manual clutch, and many riders appreciate the corresponding elimination of stalls as well as easier riding in technical situations such as sand or steep climbs. One of the very few mistakes Honda made with the debut model in the US was the livery options – other markets got the HRC tricolor white/red/blue livery but we only got red or silver. Thankfully, Honda rectified that in 2017.

The odometer shows 1,162 miles.
The seller is the original owner. He purchased it new from Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside, California, and they performed all modifications and maintenance. The upgrades include:
Black Dog Cycle Works skid plate and lower crash bars.
Hepco and Becker upper crash bars.
Haan wheels – per the seller, they use Excel halves with their own bespoke hubs and stainless spokes, original cost of nearly $2,000.
Hepco and Becker aluminum saddle bags and trunk.
Pro Taper handlebars with Scotts risers, Scotts steering stabilizer, Enduro Engineering handguards and IMS Rally footpegs.
Yoshimura RS4 exhaust.
We note a couple of small cosmetic blemishes – a cracked Honda logo on the right side of the tank and a small scratch next to it.
