Sold between 2000 and 2006 in two different versions, the RC51 has gone down as one of the most legendary motorcycles to ever come out of Honda, well-deserving of the “RC” designation that’s graced other famous Hondas like the RC30, RC40, and RC45. It was Honda’s take on the V-Twin replica racer, beating Ducati at it’s own game with multiple World Superbike Championships and a AMA Championship.

With 133 horsepower, 71 ft-lb of torque, and Honda reliability, it was an absolute gem. Cycle World thinks this is one of the best used bikes you can buy, and we’d have to agree.

The seller of this example (VIN: JH2SC4536YM000493) acquired it in December of 2020 from “an older gentleman in Texas who was getting out of riding.” He is letting it go as he just purchased an Aprilia RSV Mille Colin Edwards replica. “I had an Aprilia RSV1000 Bol d’Or which I sold then missed the sound and feel of the 60* Rotax twin. This RC51 will not be ridden, so I’d rather see the bike go to someone who will truly enjoy it!

The seller has put “very few miles on it as the registration is non-op and I have plenty of other great bikes to ride.” The odometer shows 9,255 miles.

Modifications:
M4 titanium exhaust.

Carbon fiber rear hugger.

LED front turn signals and double bubble smoke windscreen.

Not pictured are a SpeedoHealer as well as the model-specific “PAIR” and “flapper” mods.

The tires are Continental Sport Attack that are two years old with approximately 500 miles on them. Recent maintenance includes a new battery with tender plug as well as rebuilt front brake calipers with new pads. The seller states that the only mechanical issue is a non-functioning left rear turn signal.

The sale includes the original front and rear sprockets, original windscreen, original clipons with OEM bar ends, track brake pads, passenger seat, and additional spares.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
There are minor scuffs on both side fairings and the tail. Per the seller, “the bike doesn’t appear to have been down. The right fairing has a small crack and scuff from prior transportation damage.”

This Honda is currently located in Woodland Hills, California. Though the seller left the Texas plate on from when he purchased it, this motorcycle is offered on a clean California title with non-op registration. Have any RC51 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
