Honda introduced the world to the four-cylinder CB750 at the Tokyo Motor Show in October of 1968. Considered by many to be the first “superbike”, it was an absolute game-changer of a motorcycle.
Best of all, the CB750 didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Despite features like a 296mm front hydraulic disc brake, five-speed gearbox, quality lighting, electric starter, and industry-defining reliability, it was a shockingly economical bike. The CB also got a compact five-speed transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch, hydraulic fork, dual rear shocks, and a rear drum brake. Weighing in at 495 lbs, the CB750 and its tubular steel duplex frame wasn’t exactly light, but the powerful engine put down 67 hp at 8,500 rpm and was capable of reaching speeds of up to 125 mph.
The original CB750 was succeeded in 1971 with the K1 model. It was highly successful (Honda sold approximately 77,000 of them) and had several cosmetic updates as well a two-cable throttle system which made throttle action much lighter and smoother.

The seller is a dear friend of Iconic – he originally purchased it in 2010 after spotting it at the Rock Store. He then had it rebuilt by a local CB750 expert. The bike had roughly 18,500 miles on it at the time. After the work, he sold the bike three years ago with the caveat that he would have first right of refusal if the new owner wanted to move on. The bike is back in his possession but he’d like to find this CB a new home. The odometer now shows 22,518 miles.

Excel wheels, PM front caliper, aftermarket rotor, polished fork legs.
Works Performance shocks.
Rizoma grips.
Marshall Instruments liquid filled oil pressure gauge.
The original seat was redone in leather by a helicopter upholstery specialist.
Aftermarket bar end mirrors.
Crash bars.
New OEM fenders.
The gauge faces were redone.
Later model (HM341) exhaust.
Ignition relocation.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
There’s minor corrosion on the shocks and other metal parts.
Scuffs on the tops of both gauges.
Chip on the right downtube of the frame.
Chip in right sidecover.
Scuffs and stains on the exhaust.
The sale includes two keys, the owner’s manual, and the tool kit.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a clean California title with registration current through June 2021.
