No Reserve – 2013 Deus Boodaak w/ Honda XR650R Engine

Back in 2013/2014, Deus’ Michael “Woolie” Woolaway built a pair of café’d Honda super singles under the name of “Sibling Rivalry”. They were called “Dakdaak” — which was powered by a CRF450X mill — and “Boodaak” (the HRC Johnny Campbell-spec XR650R-powered bike in front of you today). As Deus put it, the name comes from “derived from the sounds of the engine as you roll on (boooo) and off (daaaak) the throttle, Boodaak is as fun to ride as it is to say.”

The engine (which is equipped with oversized valves and a Carrillo rod) was tuned by Jim Wood of Southland Racing Products before being stuffed inside a bespoke chromoly chassis with a matching chromoly swing-arm.

The creation of the Deus super single’s one-off aluminum tank and custom aluminum radiator shrouds comprised just some of the 500 hours that Woolie reportedly spent bringing the Boodaak to life.

The seat is a café-humped, one-off (water-proof) Kushitani leather unit inspired by vintage Ferrari interiors — unsurprising, considering Woolie’s dad used to run Ferrari of San Francisco.

The thoroughly-massaged XR mill was also treated to cone intakes and a custom full exhaust system that sees the dual-port unit snake past the radiators and through the inside of the frame, culminating in a high-mounted, left-hand pipe.

A one-off Woolie-made radiator that sports the Deus logo now helps cooling along.

The Honda’s running gear was also replaced with race-grade components throughout: six-piston Beringer Aerotec calipers biting on a KTM rotor in front and a Brembo unit out back, as well as an Ohlins front-end paired with a RaceTech Custom Series shock — both tuned by Lindemann Engineering’s Ed Sorbo.

Other noteworthy additions include:

Brembo master cylinder, Motion Pro throttle, Motion Pro grips, and Motogadget bar end turn signals.

Renthal sprocket.

Rizoma rearsets.

Aluminum Sun Rims (Buchanan) that have been shod in Bridgestone Battlax BT-003 Racing tires with date codes of 3812 and 0613.

Custom CNC’d triple trees, aftermarket clipons, Motogadget Motoscope Pro instrumentation, custom headlight and support bracket.

In addition to receiving write-ups on sites like BikeExif, Boodaak (and Dakdaak) were also covered by non-moto publications like Thrillist and Maxim.

Manufactured in October of 2013, this example is VIN: 1D9N0764XDV711008, Engine #: RE01E-5118192. The seller is the original owner – he “personally designed and built this one of a kind bike with the legendary Woolie. It’s been serviced over the years by Deus every time. Since I haven’t put many miles on it there hasn’t been much work done.” True mileage is unknown, the seller says that it has roughly 200 miles on it.

The owner states that “I’ve decided to sell her because of my travel schedule. She deserves an owner that can ride her and maintain her to the highest level.” Woolie summed up Boodakk by saying, “The bike is just incredible to ride…you get on the track and your knee is on the ground immediately. It turns and accelerates and does everything that it should do.”
