Introduced in July 2007 for the 2008 model year, the 1125R was Buell’s sportbike foray with a Rotax 1,125cc V-Twin engine that produced a claim 146 horsepower.
In addition to moving away from Harley-Davidson Sportster engines, the 1125R had several features that were relatively rare at the time – fuel in frame, eight-piston front caliper on a perimeter rotor, belt final drive, and an under-engine exhaust.
To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, the 2008 models had a “Erik Buell 25th Anniversary Signature Edition” plaque on the top triple tree.
Manufactured in March of 2008, this example is VIN: 4MZHL04LX83801800. The seller acquired it from the original owner, a private party in Huntington Beach, California in June of 2021. He’s letting it go to make room for another motorcycle acquisition.
Since then he’s covered approximately 500 miles. The odometer shows 2,208 miles.
Modifications:
The seller states that there are no modifications, and this bike is stock (including the original Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tires).
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes that the only blemishes are “minor marks on back left next to the seat.”
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. During his ownership, he changed the oil and flushed the hydraulic fluid in the clutch and the front master cylinder. He also “replaced the hydraulic clutch piston and cover. It’s a common issue where the clutch fluid would leak out of the weep hole of the clutch cover.”
The sale includes two keys.
Currently located in Paramount, California, this Buell is offered on a clean California with planned non-op registration.
