The second generation of the Katana was a much different machine than the original creation penned by Hans Muth. It was a roadbike with sporty styling that featured a similar engine as the long-stroke unit found in the GSX-R750, though it was tuned much like naked sportbikes are now – more for mid-range torque than high-end horsepower.

This example is VIN: JS1GR78A8V2100072. The seller acquired it from Iconic Motorbikes in August of 2018. He is letting it go as he doesn’t ride it enough.

Since then, he has covered roughly 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 2,814 miles.

Modifications:
Battery tender lead.

Adjustable clutch lever.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
It has some cracks in the fairing from when Iconic originally sold it to me and the lower right-side faring was gouged by an object that was thrown up into it while riding.”

Inside of the tank:

Recent Maintenance:
Iconic installed new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart II when the seller purchased this bike from us in 2018. During his ownership, the seller has had the carbs cleaned twice and the oil changed – the bike comes with “new carb internals and newer tires.”

It does not currently start: “It needs the fuel flushed and likely the carbs cleaned.”

Currently located in Astoria, Oregon, this Suzuki is offered on a clean Oregon title. Have any Katana stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
