Additional photos of this Honda RS250 NF5 are available here for your perusal.
Both Honda and Aprilia offered two-stroke sport bikes under the model name of “RS250”, but the Japanese variant was much more aggressive as it was a production racer available directly from the factory. It was first made available to privateer racers in 1985, going through four different generations until exiting Honda’s lineup in 2009.
Honda introduced the NF5 in 1987 – this 1992 example is from the final year of the generation. It was based on the RS250RW racer that Freddie Spencer won the ’85 world championship on, and it was a crankcase reed valve engine which closely resembled a NSR500 engine cut in half. It weighed just 230 pounds with all fluids except gas, and the 250cc 2-stroke engine was good for an impressive 71 hp.
This example is VIN: RS250RF9210146. The seller acquired it from Steve Long of Speedwerks in Dover, Delaware in 2020.
The seller has not ridden it. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.
Modifications:
GP shift sticker.
It is “sold with a battery powered roller starter + charger + up/down converter + new (unmounted) Bridgestone slicks.”
Currently located in Evansville, Indiana, this Honda is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any RS250 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
