The first year of the first generation – this is the bike that started the CBR line in the US. It was quick enough to compete in 600cc racing, but user friendly enough to still enjoy on the street during the week. When it first came out, it was quite an improvement on the competition – Kawasaki’s GPZ600 (arguably the class leader at the time) was 28 pounds heavier and down 12 horsepower. This was the first 600cc sport bike capable of a sub 11 second quarter mile.

This example is VIN: JH2PC1910HM001913.

The odometer shows 7,970 miles.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us install a new battery, replace the valve stems, flush out the tank with vinegar, clean/sync the carbs, and replace the petcock, Daniel and Steve did the work, they note that the brake pads are at 95%/100% front/rear and that the coolant, oil, lights, killswitch, and horn are OK. They also that the front right turn signal does not function, the fuel valve indicator reads opposite from what is displayed on knob.
