With it’s origins dating back to 1998, the Hornet – known as the CB600F in European and Japanese markets – was a standard motorcycle based off of the popular CBR600F platform. With a design intended to encourage a more comfortable and approachable riding position, the Hornet quickly became a commercial success. With a liquid-cooled 599cc inline-four engine claiming 97 horsepower (depending on the region), and roughly 49 ft./lbs. of torque, the Hornet offered plenty of punch. For the 2004 model, Honda released the Hornet in the states as the 599, with new features such as a larger tank and a more aggressive design. Alongside those features came a refined frame to improve handling, and improved ergonomics to facilitate everyday commutes and longer rides.
