Having spent years honing his bike-handling skills riding motocross as a schoolboy, Neil Hodgson started road racing in the British Clubman’s Ministock aboard a Yamaha TZR125. By 1992, he had moved to the 125cc International Supercup, then becoming the British National 125cc Champion at the age of 18.
His early promise meant that HRC Honda selected him to compete in the 125cc World Championship as a rider for Team Burnett. And here’s the thing — he only continued to rise through the ranks. In 1995, he moved up to the 500cc World Championship with WCM; just a year later, he entered WSBK with Ducati before moving over to Fuchs Kawasaki.
Eventually, Hodgson found success once again with a British Superbike title in 2000, fighting Suzuki’s Chris Walker throughout the season. His win prompted a return to WSBK in 2001, and just two years later he capitalized on his efforts with a championship for Ducati.
Following a frustrating season as a rider for Team d’Antin, Hodgson wrote off MotoGP altogether and made the jump to AMA racing. He finished fifth in the 2006 season and 6th in the 2008 season. Though he made a strong start in 2009, a training accident resulted in a collapsed lung and a dislocated shoulder, relegating him to 11th and prompting his retirement the following year.
This bodywork is from Hodgson’s 2008 Formula Xtreme season aboard a Honda CBR600RR.
The sale includes a front fender, a front fairing, a belly pan, a tank cover, and a tail section.
