Please note: Iconic Motorbikes acquired this Vitpilen as we planned on including it as part of our rental fleet for Iconic East. It was barely used after it was serviced and never rented. After careful consideration and talking to two of our Manufacturer Partners (Aprilia and BMW), we’re opting to use new BMWs and Aprilias for our rental fleet and no longer need this one.
Having established sure footing in the supermoto and off-road markets, Husqvarna wanted to make a splash in the naked bike scene with some naked roadsters: the Vitpilen and the Svartpilen. While the Svart has been praised as a lightweight standard that handles anything you throw it at, the same can be said — and more — for its bigger brother: the Vitpilen 701.
Built from the same engine the 690 Duke has seen since 2012, the 701 Vitpilen aimed to capture the everyday commuter, while offering the rider a package that was greater than the sum of its parts. The thumper that motivates this lightweight package puts out a respectable 75 bhp with a feisty 53 ft-lb of torque all in a compact motorcycle that weighs just under 350 pounds.
Elsewhere, Husqvarna spared no expense on the components, bringing the 701 to market with Brembo components throughout, WP adjustable suspension, and even TCS and ABS that could be controlled on the fly. The Vitpilen’s styling was unique and in-your-face, all while being a capable around-town motorcycle and a lightweight canyon carver.
Manufactured in September of 2018, this example is VIN: VBKUPV409KM737518.
The odometer shows 3,389 miles.
