Born from the ashes of an original 2005 Ninja 250 whose engine gave out, came this creation – a Ninja 250 body and chassis with a modern Ninja 400 engine.
To properly convey the process of this build, we’ll defer to the seller: “This started as an original Ninja 250 with 1136 miles and a bad engine, I sourced a wrecked Ninja 400 and carefully combined the two. To my surprise, a lot of the bike wanted to go together. The goal was to create the bike that Kawasaki should have built. I always had a soft spot for the ‘brick ninjas’ and this one is my greatest creation out of the 4 I’ve owned over the years.”
This example is VIN: JKAEXMF135DA12021. The seller purchased the original Ninja 250 via Facebook Marketplace in January of 2023.
The odometer has been replaced. The seller states there is 20,299 miles on the engine and 2,678 miles on the chassis.
Maintenance:
The seller performed the custom work themselves, and has included photos documenting the process.
As part of the build, the seller states they performed the following:
Inspected the valves.
Changed the oil.
Flushed and replaced the coolant.
Installed a new Yuasa battery.
Installed new fork seals with Maxima 10w fork oil.
Replaced the front and rear brake fluid.
The seller notes the neutral indicator does not function on the instrument gauge, but all other gears are represented properly.
Modifications:
Ninja 400 motor with custom mounts and Ninja 400 fuel injection.
Ninja 400 instrumentation.
GSX-R600 rear shock.
Jardine RT-One muffler with aftermarket header and midpipe.
RK X-ring chain and JT sprockets.
Per the seller, the motorcycle dyno’d at 46hp, and they have since upgraded to Barnett clutch springs paired with an updated pull rod and bearing from Kawasaki.
Not pictured: R6 throttle tube, stainless front brake line, EBH HH brake pads, TST block-off plate and PAIR eliminator plug, RaceTech gold valve emulators, and KawsakiBrad o2 sensor delete.
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Bridgestone tires with date codes of 1321 and 1822.
The sale includes three keys.
