Zero Engineering was founded in Japan in 1992 but they established a US subsidiary in Las Vegas and started selling some of their limited production choppers to Americans starting in 2008.
They offered four models – the Type 5, Type 6, Type 8, and Type 9. The Type 6 was all about combining “an old school look with modern engineering,” pairing a rigid Gooseneck frame with a S&S 93 ci. motor.
Upgrades over the Type 5 included a springer fork, 6-speed transmission, and both electric/kick start.
The Type 6 also featured a high mount shotgun exhaust.
This example is VIN: IDCO02172ZZ. The seller purchased this example one year ago from the original builder. The seller reports the motorcycle was assigned a VIN via the Colorado DMV upon completion of the build.
The odometer shows 3,540 miles. The seller states they have put 20 miles on the motorcycle since installing the new engine. Per the seller: “The mileage on the odometer was from when all components were brand new (including the odometer) and originally assembled to create an operational motorcycle.”
Maintenance:
The seller states they have installed a new Antigravity battery.
Modifications:
Harley-Davidson 1340 EVO crate motor with a Killer carburetor and Rivera Primo belt drive. The seller has included Certificate of Origin for the engine.
Baker Frankentranny 6-into-4 transmission.
