Valentino Rossi is a name that truly needs no introduction, as the Italian is widely considered to be one of the — if not the — best motorcycle racers of all time.
Following his dominating performances in the 125cc and 250cc classes, Rossi moved up to the 500cc World Championship in 2000. Riding for Honda, he took the second place in the title that same year, after which he continued to build on his success: first with a win at the 8 Hours of Suzuka in 2001, and subsequently with MotoGP World Championships in 2002 and 2003.
Even a change of teams wasn’t enough to stop The Doctor — he repeated his back-to-back wins aboard a Yamaha in 2004 and 2005 and then again in 2008 and 2009. Unfortunately, a broken leg left Rossi unable to defend his title for 2010, prompting him to move to Ducati.
This fairing is from Rossi’s 2010 MotoGP season with Yamaha.
It is mounted in in a wooden frame on plexiglass via a series of brackets. It measures 90cm (35.4″) by 60cm (23.6″).
