As the son of Canadian Motorsport Hall of Famer Yvon Duhamel, Miguel Duhamel was born with racing in his blood. And it certainly shows when you consider his track record.
For one, Duhamel took home no fewer than 86 total AMA wins — more than any other rider in the history of the sport. He’s also tied with Toni Elias for the honor of the fourth-winningest rider in the AMA Superbike series with 32 class wins to his name.
Throughout Duhamel’s career, he captured the Superbike crown in 1995 (becoming the first Canadian to do so), he won the Daytona 200 five times, and he took five AMA Supersport titles and two AMA Formula Xtreme titles. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, one of Duhamel’s Daytona wins came on the heels of a severe accident that nearly cost him his leg. What’s more, his 40-odd Supersport victories number three times that of the second-closest record holder.
Of course, such performances couldn’t go unnoticed; Miguel Duhamel was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2016.
