In 2003, BMW introduced a third member to its K family. Slotted between the sportier K1200RS and the luxurious (albeit heavier) K1200LT, the K1200GT was more like an upgraded RS than a lightened LT.
The GT came equipped with a 1171cc inline-four engine — a block first introduced on the 1998 K1200RS. With a claimed 130bhp and 86ft-lb of torque, it was BMW’s most powerful engine at the time. Good thing too, considering the bike tipped the scales at a hearty 628lbs.
Other changes included an improved upright riding position, additional wind deflectors, an electrically adjustable windscreen, a two-position heated seat, along with slightly higher (and wider) handlebars and a set of color-matched pannier lids. As VisorDown put in its review: “The GT is very good at covering large distances effortlessly. I can honestly say the GT is the comfiest bike I have ever ridden. The seating position is close to perfection, with the seat itself full of padding, and the bars at just the right height to stop aches and pains in your wrists. I covered over 600 miles of dual carriageway in a day and got off the bike at the end feeling fine and ready for a night on the beers, not a session with a chiropractor.”

The seller states, “The previous owner recently had the bike’s first service done by the BMW dealer. I have all paperwork for the service.”
