The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate as much, and today we have for you an example from the 2004 run.
Set against a black rubber strap and measuring 43.5mm diameter, the case comprises a mix of carbon composite and stainless steel. A bidrectional stainless steel bezel bears a tachymeter — typical of racing chronographs — while the black dial is highlighted by luminous super Luminova hands and bar hour and minute markers.
In addition to three sub dials — displaying 1/10th-second, 30-minute, and 60-second increments, the watch also features a date display at four. Thanks to its reliable quartz movement, sapphire crystal, and 100-meter water resistance, it’s more than rugged enough to rock as a daily driver.
The sale includes a box, an assortment of booklets, a pair of allen keys, and the original warranty card.
