The Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 SE (Special Edition) was a limited run of motorcycles based on the Series II Le Mans 1000. Built in honor of the 20th anniversary of the release of the V7, it has evolved into a collector’s bike particularly desired by Guzzistas. Only 100 examples of the Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 SE made it to the United States.
All of the Special Editions had a red and white paint scheme, with distinctive aspects including a red seat and red wheels.
The ~80hp engines were untouched, though acceleration was boosted as the transmissions were geared closer than the standard Le Mans.
This example is VIN: ZGUVVAVV7HM100468. The seller acquired the bike through an auction here on Iconic Motorbikes.
The odometer shows 5,803 miles.
Maintenance:
The seller had the bike brought up to running spec upon purchase with a new battery, fresh fluids, a carb clean, and new tires. He adds that this is “quite possibly the cleanest lowest mileage LeMans 1000se anywhere. It does have the European front turn signals are now considered unobtanium, look for a pair!”
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us clean and sync the carbs, replace the carburetor accelerator pump, repair the front master cylinder, bleed the brakes, replace the spark plugs, and perform a safety inspection. The seller also helped us source a rare OEM square style cover and gasket (“a discontinued Brembo item and possibly the last one on the planet”).
