First released in Japan in 1970, the TS125 was a small bore dual purpose bike which offered fun both on and off road at an affordable price. One advert boasted, ”You can get a combination of 15 different rides on it, the rear shocks adjust 5 ways and the enduro-type front fork adjusts 3 ways”. So confident in the bikes durability Suzuki offered a 12 month or 12,000 mile guarantee, a rare perk of the time period.
Riders were powered by an air-cooled 123cc aluminium single cylinder, 2-stroke which put out 13 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 9.8 ft-lbs @ 6,500 rpm. The 125 was offered as a TS125 ‘Duster’ or TC125 ‘Prospector’ a more trail oriented model featuring a dual-range gearbox with eight speed transmission high-low, luggage rack, and higher mounted front mud guard.
This example is VIN: TC12559507; Engine TC12559547. Per the seller, “Been in my family since 70’s and was stored in a warehouse. Needs to go to a collector or someone who’d appreciate it and either use it or place it in a collection.”
Maintenance:
The seller reports no recent maintenance and points out the only non original parts are the tires and battery. He states, “It’s been sitting for 15-16 years not fired since – I’d recommend going through it and making sure all the seals are still good to go.”
Modifications:
The bike appears to be stock.
It is riding on IRC Trails GP tires which have aged out.
The sale includes three original keys.
