Back in 2020, Ducati replaced its aging 959 with an all-new middleweight supersport: the Panigale V2. Along with inheriting the styling of its bigger, more powerful brother — the Panigale V4 — the bike also got treated to an improved Superquadro engine.
In practice, the update meant that the V2 gained new injectors and inlet ducts, resulting in Euro 5 compliance and an extra five horsepower. All-in, the bike was good for 155hp at 10,750rpm and 77lb-ft of torque at 9,000rpm. What’s more, Ducati designed the Superquadro as a stressed member within the aluminum frame, meaning that the V2 ditched its predecessor’s dual-sided swingarm in favor of a single-sided unit.
By far one of the biggest additions to the bike came in the form of its updated electronics package. The V2 borrowed the six-axis IMU from the V4, giving riders access to eight-level cornering traction-control, three-level cornering ABS, four-level wheelie control, and three-level engine braking settings. Ducati also fitted the bike with an up/down quickshifter.
In 2022, Ducati decided to celebrate Troy Bayliss’ World Superbike championships with a special numbered model dubbed the V2 Bayliss First Championship 20th Anniversary Edition. For an extra $3,700 over the standard V2, you got a set of fully adjustable Öhlins NIX 30 forks, a fully adjustable Öhlins TTX 36 shock, as well an Öhlins steering damper. Of course, the bike was also distinguished by its commemorative Bayliss livery.

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “I bought this bike just over a year ago from an individual in Brea, CA. It has a salvage title and has been rebuilt. It runs and rides perfectly. I bought this bike to do track days on it and have done multiple, it runs and rides perfectly and is a great track day bike with the Öhlins setup. As such, I’ve removed much of the cosmetic plastic around the subframe, removed the headlight and installed the Ducati Performance headlight plastic replacement, removed the rear taillight, and installed a raised windshield. I have serviced the bike, it currently has fresh oil and filter.”
